A Greek Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008, from Lafazanis Winery

A selection we picked up in a grocery store on the Greek Island of Milos.  Unfortunately, I’m still on a red-wine ban, but the mister was able to enjoy it on my behalf…while I sipped my standard Moscato.

In his opinion…
Color: Sumptuous ruby
Nose: Minerals, earthy, maybe raspberry or black cherry
Tongue: Dry, a bit thin, restless, ripe and firm.  Fruit is present, strong cherry.  Body is tart, woody layers, tamed tannins, mineral presence and perhaps black pepper.  More stony than earthy.
